I Joined the WPJA
I was recently invited to join the Wedding Photojournalist Association. They are an exclusive group of professional wedding photographers who specialize in documentary style shooting. I'm honored to be a part of the association. Here are some blurbs from the site:
"The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) is a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding photographers from around the world. What sets our members apart in the industry is their candid, documentary approach – a distinctly artistic vision toward wedding photography."
"Leading the way in Wedding Photojournalism, WPJA represents the most discriminating talent around the world technically, creatively and visually. Qualified members hold industry-leading standards, skills and business integrity."
"The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), an International, membership-based organization, represents professional photographers skilled in the documentation of weddings and events in a candid, unobtrusive style. Trish and Scott's Album Design
I finally finished the rough design of Trish and Scott's album. I'm very proud of this. Beautiful, vivacious couple, wonderful family- just a great day. Here's the link.
Papa's Got a Hat
So after several days of feeling like I was twenty again and after becoming absolutely certain that Dash was not going to get a Mohawk I decided to just shave it off. I'm not crazy about my bald head so I got a hat. Now I look like a hep cat.. or some such.
So, by all means, feel free to hire me for your wedding. By the time you get married I might look respectable...

Papa's Got a Mohawk
So here's a funny story:
My son, Dash, age six, said a few weeks ago that he wanted to get a Mohawk. Now, we are artists and Bohemians in spirit so we thought it was a GREAT idea. We encouraged him to do it but he kind of wavered a bit. Then, his friend and neighbor, Ryan, also age six, got a Mohawk probably because he was sick of hearing Dash talk about it.
But Dash was still hesitant- Keep in mind, this whole thing was Dash's idea. Anyway, to help him make the RIGHT decision I did what any father would do: I offered to get a Mohawk with him. So we went to the barber. He wanted me to go first. Buzz, buzz... Papa's got a Mohawk.
Then, when Dash got into the chair, he decided he didn't really want a Mohawk. Seriously, no. He doesn't want a Mohawk. But Dash I just got a Mohawk because I thought we were going to get them together and it would look so cool on the Daily Dash/Dex to have us both with Mohawks- He doesn't want a Mohawk. He really doesn't want a Mohawk. He doesn't like the way Mohawks look. He decided.

Trish & Scott Wedding
I shot a great wedding on Friday. Here's a fact: My favorite accent in the world is Scottish. My second favorite is Irish. Here's another fact: Kilts rock. That's true. Look it up if you like.
I was very happy to have Trish and Scott ask me to photograph their wedding. There were Scottish kilts and Irish jigs- Accordion and fiddle... very cool. Great colors, great people, cooperative weather. It was just fun all around. Here are a few shots I like. Album link to follow...
